Frances Jean Patrick, 76

Frances Jean Patrick, 76, of Mahaffey, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte.

She was born Aug. 20, 1937, in Bradford, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Isabelle (Brown) Battles.

Her enjoyments were gardening, cooking, mowing the grass and taking care of her dogs.

Mrs. Patrick is survived by one son, Paul Dallas Patrick, Jr. and wife Shelley of Bellefonte; two grandchildren, Nicole Esposti and husband James of Mahaffey and Kris Patrick of Big Run; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Skip Battles of California and Forrest Battles of Bradford; two sisters, Pat Mott and Betty Whitney and husband Stanley of Bradford.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, George Battles.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014, at St. Phillips United Methodist Church in Big Run.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 at the church, officiated by Pastor Dawn Krishart.

Arrangements are entrusted to Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, inc., Big Run.

Mrs. Patrick's ashes will be interred at Otterbein Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Patrick's memory to the Gateway Humane Society, 1211 Airport Road, Falls Creek, PA 15840.
