Frances Evelyn (Narvey) Mocek, 97, DuBois, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, one day after celebrating her 97th birthday.

She was born Jan. 18, 1917, in DuBois, the daughter of the late Philip and Aniela (Kolek) Narvey (Nawoj).

She married Charles Mocek, who also preceded her in death.

She attended Sandy High School and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

She had worked at Sylvania in Emporium and later at Rockwell in DuBois, and then, after getting married, she became a homemaker and lived in Punxsutawney for many years.

Her caregiver for 30 years, among others, was Carline (Nedza) Duttry.

She has one surviving sister, Catherine Nedza of DuBois; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, two sisters, Ann Kassawara and Julia Seary; and four brothers, Frank, Joseph, John and Walter Narvey.

Friends will be received on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in DuBois with Father Daniel Kresinski officiating.

Interment will take place in Church Cemetery.
