Florence Jennie Cooper, 91

Florence Jennie Cooper, age 91, of Sagamore, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at the home of her son in Richmond, Va.

She was born in 1921 to John Reid and Bertha Dell Aul McCausland in Armstrong County.

Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Sagamore Community Bible Church.

She was a lifelong resident of Sagamore and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching TV.

Florence is survived by two sons and two daughters, James C. and wife Barbara of Richmond, Va., Sally A. Heckman of Punxsutawney, John “Ron” and wife Donna of Elderton and Cathy Hilliard and husband Robert of Sagamore; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

She is also survived by three sisters, Grace Large of Inverness, Fla.; Dorothy Shotts of Dayton and Shirley Shemo and husband Conrad of Indiana; and by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her loving husband of 43 years, James C. Cooper, in 1984; and by three brothers, Robert “Clark,” Donald and Clair McCausland; and by her infant sister, Ruby Mae McCausland.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, with Pastor Tommy Nichols officiating.

Interment will be made at the St. John Cemetery, Sagamore.
