FEMCO to host party next Saturday benefiting Toys for Tots

November 17, 2012

PUNXSUTAWNEY — Femco is hosting a 'Gingerbread Open House Party' on Saturday, Nov. 24, from noon to 2 p.m.

This will be a joint effort between Femco, Community Action and Kiwanis.

Femco is encouraging people to drop off new and unwrapped toys for Toys
for Tots while they're out and about getting ready for the other holiday festivities that day (parade, etc.).

One age group which is often overlooked in Toys for Tots donations are babies.

There will be free food and refreshments provided.

Costumed characters will be available for a meet-and- greet (The Gingerbread Man and Frosty the Snowman) at the party.

The gingerbread house — which lights up at night — was built by Femco employees on their own time, but support was also provided by the following businesses: CRW Home Center, Smith Hauling, Miller Bros. Furniture and H&H Supply.

Toy donations can be dropped off 24/7 in the slot on the Gingerbread House.

The last day for collections is Friday, Dec. 14.

If anyone needs more information about the event or would like to donate time to help, call Thom Pratt, Femco marketing associate, at 938-0709.
