ANITA — Don Byerly is a familiar face. You may recognize him as president of the McCalmont Township Fire Company. Or perhaps, you have seen him helping out his fellow firefighters.

Byerly was born in DuBois and raised in Punxsutawney.

He attended Jeff Tech, where he took up building trades.

After school, Byerly headed out to the bright and sunny state of California, where he lived for six months.

Read all about Byerly in Friday's edition of The Spirit.
