PUNXSUTAWNEY— Loretta Shaver is a familiar face. You may recognize her as a volunteer at the Salvation Army Worship and Service Center, where she puts in long hours helping wherever she can.

Shaver was born and raised in Maryland.

After graduating high school, she took a job at a nursing home. Then, after working for a short while at the nursing home, she obtained a position as a live-in-housekeeper.

In 1980, she and her family moved to Punxsutawney, where she was a stay-at-home mother for many years.

Read all about Shaver in Friday's edition of The Spirit.
