Familiar Faces Friday!

(Editor’s note: This piece is one in a series of “Familiar Faces Friday” features to be written by Spirit reporter Destiny Pifer. The point of the project will be to highlight a member of the community who may be recognizable to many and tell his or her story. Today’s familiar face is Jim Cassidy.)

PUNXSUTAWNEY— Jim Cassidy is a familiar face. You may recognize him
most for all that he does for our community.

Whether its helping out at the Weather Discovery Center or with Rotary Club events.

Cassidy was born and raised in Punxsutawney.

He is a 1972 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.

After graduation he attended King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, where he majored in government and public administration.

After graduating in 1976, Cassidy worked at a few short term jobs before taking a position at Fairman Drilling Company, where he worked until 1997, in natural gas marketing.
