Evelyn Mae Clinger, 87

Evelyn Mae Clinger, 87, Brookville, Laurelbrooke Landing, formerly of Clark Street, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at McKinley Health Center.

She was born Sept. 25, 1924, in Anita, a daughter of the late Thomas and Lotta (Humm) Whitfield.

July 22, 1950, in Reynoldsville, she married Myron E. (Mike) Clinger, who preceded her in death April 13, 2011.

Mrs. Clinger was a homemaker and previously worked at Brookville Sylvania as an inspector.

A member of the Brookville Order of the Eastern Star, she enjoyed family, gardening, crocheting, reading and puzzles.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Keith A. Clinger and wife Karen of Brookville, and Ron E. Clinger and wife Terry of Jackson, Tenn.; a daughter, Debra J. Campbell and husband Blaine of Summerville; a sister, Anna Wheeler and husband Andy of DuBois; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, John, George and Royal Whitfield.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Bickerstaff officiating.

Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
