Ethel Ruth Farnsworth, 95

Ethel Ruth Farnsworth, 95, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Wellington Heights in Punxsutawney.

She was born July 7, 1918, in Valier, Pa., the daughter of the late William and Ora (Bath) Plowman.

She was married to Ralph Farnsworth, who preceded her in death in 1987.

Mrs. Farnsworth and her husband were the owners of the former Farnsworth Jewelry in Punxsutawney for many years,

She was a member of the Woodland Avenue United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Punxsutawney Chapter No. 72, Order of the Eastern
Star.

She is survived by one sister, Bonnie Jane Hudak of Punxsutawney; and by one niece, Darlene Nitwitz of Canfield, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Maurice and James Plowman.

Friends will be received at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney on Friday, May 16, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m.

The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow at Circle Hill Cemetery.

The members of Punxsutawney Chapter 72, Order of the Eastern Star will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.
