Esther Mae Baker Kendra, 91

Esther M. Kendra, 91, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.

She was born March 14, 1923, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Clair and Irene (Rodger) Baker.

On June 11, 1958, she married Gerald Joseph (Jerry) Kendra, who preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 2002.

She was a housewife and enjoyed sewing and cooking.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Rosita McQuown and husband Dale of DuBois; a grandson, Dale A. McQuown, Jr. and wife Lynda of Transfer, Pa; and two great-grandsons, Mitchell Scott McQuown and Ryan Joseph McQuown of Transfer, Pa.; a sister, Genevieve Bridge of Punxsutawney; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter in 1961 and a grandson in 1963; five brothers, Edward, Gardner, Wilbur, Kenneth and Clair Baker; and three sisters, Margarette Koestle, Pansy Robert and Virginia Harvey.

Services are being held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
