Esther E. Gray, 87

Esther E. Gray, 87, DuBois, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the DuBois Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 4, 1924, in Paradise, a daughter of the late John and Iva (Green) Reed.

During World War II, she was an airplane riveter in Buffalo, N.Y.

Jan. 12, 1946, she married William Gray, who preceded her in death in 1998.

During her marriage, Mrs. Gray worked at Brockway Glass, BF Goodrich, Jefferson Electronics, Sears and Riverside.

She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 30 years, as well as the P.T.A. and Meals on Wheels.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Ed Gray of Maryland and Dennis Gray and wife Shelia of DuBois.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Deborah (Kriner) Gray; a granddaughter, Cindy (Gray) Walters; a brother, Charles Reed; and six sisters, Bessie Fox, Myrtle Irwin, Rosalie Henry, Marion McKee, Leona Reed and Zella Sesti.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, DuBois. An additional hour of viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m, Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. John White officiating.

Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
