Esther Arlene Henry, 85

Esther Arlene Henry, 85, Lake Wales, Fla., died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at the Winter Haven Hospital.

She was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Marion Center, a daughter of the late Clair and Gaye Griffith.

She was married to her husband, John Henry, who survives, for 69 years.
Mrs. Henry moved to Florida from Michigan 27 years ago. She retired from K-Mart as a cashier, and was a member of the South Lake Wales Church of God.

Those who knew her loved her smile and sweet spirit.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include a daughter, Bonnie Zehm of Winter Haven; three grandchildren, Jan Acdan, Kanani Briggs and Jolee Hart; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Henry of Michigan. 

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at the South Lake Wales Church of God.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons International.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service for light refreshments at the church.
