Ervin K. Schlabach, 40, Punxsutawney, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at home.

He was born Feb. 22, 1970, in Kittanning, a son of Ervin J. and Katie W. (Byler) Schlabach, who both survive.

He was married to Laura M. (Miller) Schlabach, who survives.

Mr. Schlabach worked as a carpenter in the construction trade.

In addition to his wife and parents, surviving relatives include a daughter, Emma E. Schlabach; three brothers, John E. Schlabach and wife Sarah of Smicksburg, Albert Schlabach and wife Ella of Rossiter, and Lester K. Schlabach and wife Elva of New York; a sister, Mary E. Byler and husband Jonas of Punxsutawney; numerous nieces and nephews; and a paternal grandmother, Emma M. Schlabach.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John E. Schlabach; and maternal grandparents, William J. and Martha D. (Kurtz) Byler.

Friends were received from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at 4368 Pike Road, Punxsutawney. 

A funeral service was held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at 4368 Pike Road, Punxsutawney.

Interment was held in the Troutville Amish Cemetery, Henderson Twp., Jefferson County.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.
