ELKS HOOP SHOOT CHAMPS HONORED

During halftime at Tuesday's girls' basketball game, the winners and runners-up of the Elks Hoop Shoot held Jan. 5 at PAHS were honored. Participants in three different age groups — eight- and nine-year-olds, 10- and 11-year-olds and 12- and 13-year-olds — participated in the annual event. Pictured here, with their trophies, are (front, from left) Darren Byers (eight and nine boys' runner up), Jackson Fezell (eight and nine boys' champion), Katelyn Griebel (eight and nine girls' champion), Abby Gigliotti (eight and nine girls' runner-up); (middle) Carter Newcome (10 and 11 boys' champion, Ethan Blose (10 and 11 boys' runner-up), Kate Horner (10 and 11 girls' runner-up), Kylee Lingenfelter (10 and 11 girls' champion); (back) Morgan VanLeer (12 and 13 girls' champion), Kaitlyn Ray (12 and 13 girls' runner-up), Peyton Graham (12 and 13 boys' champion) and Ethan Riley (12 and 13 boys' runner-up). Griebel was also recognized for winning the regional shoot last weekend to advance to the Pennsylvania state meet March 3 in State College.
