Elizabeth K. "Betty" Stewart, 73, Stump Creek, died Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital. 

She was born Aug. 29, 1937, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Edgar Blain and Jean (Hetrick) Slick Sr.

She married William M. Stewart, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Stewart attended the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Punxsutawney. She was retired from Jensen and enjoyed being on her computer.

Surviving relatives include a son, Kenneth E. Long and wife Judy of Rossiter; a daughter, Kathy Hockinson and husband John of Griffin, Ga.; a step-daughter, Crystal Gramates and husband John of Baltimore; a sister, Dorothy Veite of Stump Creek; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Huey; a brother, Edgar Blain Slick Jr.; and a sister, Margaret Slick.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011, at McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Matthew Peachy officiating.

Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
