Elizabeth I. States, 85, Berlin Center, Ohio, formerly of Rossiter, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at Salem Community Hospital in Ohio.

A daughter of the late Albert G. and Iva (Stiver) Auden, Mrs. States was born Jan. 27, 1926, in Glen Campbell.

She was married to Quay States of Berlin Center, Ohio, who survives. They were married for 64 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Carol Champion of Chandler, Ariz., and Donna Cook of North Jackson, Ohio; one half-sister, Kathryn Lucas-Lambert and husband Bill of Lake Milton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Christa Hubbard and husband Wayne, Tarryn Axtell and husband Sam, and Elena Eaken and husband Shawn; three great grandchildren, Landon Axtell, Lauren Elizabeth Axtell and Zachary Eaken.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald J. Auden; and a sister, Bernice Kraynak.

Friends will be received from noon until 2 p.m. today at McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with Pastor Earl Flick officiating.

Private interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Rossiter.
