Eleanor Levina Williams, 89, of Punxsutawney, died on April 9, 2014, at Mulberry Square Eldercare.

Eleanor was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Rockton, a daughter of the late Homer and Bessie (Bickel) Bonsall.

On Oct. 22, 1960, she married Elmer Ellsworth Williams, Jr., who preceded her in death on May 16, 1971.

Mrs. Williams attended the Salvation Army.

She enjoyed taking care of her family, making crafts and doing puzzles.

She is survived by three children, Bruce Williams and wife Amy of Punxsutawney, Homer Williams and wife Sylvia of Corry, and Brenda Williams of Punxsutawney; two step-children, Ida Zurenda of Punxsutawney and Dolores Hartman of Sykesville; one brother, Dan Zurenda and wife Ida of Punxsutawney; two sisters, Opal Genovesi of Pittsburgh and Theresa Gallentine of Sykesville; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Williams and William Williams, Sr., and a sister, Ruth Bunker.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Brett Swanson.

Her ashes will be interred at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon.
