Edna Marie Shaffer, 75

Edna Marie Shaffer, 75, Brookville, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at home.

She was born June 7, 1936, in Reynoldsville, a daughter of the late Donald S. and Arveda (Sprague) Reed.

April 12, 1958, she married John Irvin Shaffer, who survives.

Mrs. Shaffer was a member of the Ramsaytown United Methodist Church.
She was also a former member of Green Valley Grange and the Ramsaytown United Methodist Ladies’ Aid.

She enjoyed being with her family, reading and knitting.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include a daughter, Karen Villella and husband Kevin of Punxsutawney; three sons, David Shaffer and wife Kay, Roy Lee Shaffer and wife Linda, and Donald Shaffer and wife Jan, all of Brookville; three brothers, Norman Reed and wife Sarah Mae of Reynoldsville, John Reed and wife Carol of Punxsutawney, and Richard Reed and wife Judy of Falls Creek; two sisters, Sarah Perry and husband Leon of Dover, Fla., and Betty Dickey and husband Richard of Reynoldsville; two grandsons, Keith and Kurt Villella, several step-grandchildren; a great-granddaughter, Samantha Villella; and several step-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Brookville.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Michael Garvey.

Interment will be in the Ramsaytown Cemetery.
