Friday evening was a momentous occasion, as the Punxsutawney Eagle Riders No. 1231 presented a $15,000 check to the DuBois/Jefferson Special Olympics.

The Eagle Riders held their annual Burrow Thunder event on July 6.

The goal was to raise at least $10,000, and the Riders surpassed that goal by $5,000.
