Dylan N. “Shorty” Behrendt, 19, Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, Nov. 12, 2011, in Armstrong County.

He was born Nov. 10, 1992, in DuBois, the son of Daniel Behrendt Sr., who survives, of Punxsutawney, and the late Roberta M. (Mietkiewicz) Behrendt.

He was a 2011 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School. He was a member of the Ski Club and enjoyed dirt bikes, hunting, snowboarding and his friends. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, “Uncle Pickle” and true friend who will be greatly missed.

In addition to his father, he is survived by a brother; Daniel Behrendt Jr. and wife Lindsay of Punxsutawney; a sister, Stacey Behrendt and fiancé Caleb Cochran of Punxsutawney; a niece, Alivia Marie Cochran; a nephew, Ethan James Cochran; his paternal grandmother,Annabell Behrendt of Brookville; his maternal grandmother, Gail Bridges of California; his father’s girlfriend, Carrie Rae Cary of Punxsutawney; and his dog, Zeus.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Behrendt; and his maternal grandfather, Raymond Mietkiewicz.

A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney, with Msgr. Joseph Riccardo as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
