DuBois woman killed in Route 255 rollover

HUSTON TOWNSHIP, CLEARFIELD COUNTY — DuBois-based Pennsylvania State Police have reported a fatal traffic accident that took place on Tuesday night on Bennetts Valley Highway (Route 255) in Huston Township, Clearfield County and claimed the life of a 42-year-old DuBois woman.

Police said Tammi L. Markievich was traveling south on Route 255 at a high rate of speed in her 2003 Jeep Liberty at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday night when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole.

The vehicle then traveled over a small embankment, causing it to roll, the report said. The vehicle rolled over nine times before coming to its final rest in a field west of the roadway.

Police said that Markievich was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Clearfield County Deputy Coroner Kimberlee Shaffer Snyder.
