DuBois man charged with aggravated assault after allegedly driving car at woman
REYNOLDSVILLE — A 35-year-old DuBois man has been charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and driving while suspended following an argument with a 36-year-old DuBois woman, according to Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police.
Police said David V. August and the alleged victim were involved in a verbal argument at 6:45 p.m. Saturday that began in Reynoldsville and continued while they drove along Route 322 and Route 830 in Pine Creek Township.
When August stopped the car on Route 830, police said the woman got out and fled south on the road.
August allegedly chased her with his vehicle, police said, and the woman ran into the woods to get off the roadway.
Police allege that August drove into the wood line and at the woman; the vehicle came very close to the victim but did not hit her.
August fled the scene when a bystander came to the woman’s aid, police reported.
Information on August’s arraignment was still pending as of Spirit press time.
