BIG RUN — The driver of a 2003 Freightliner was uninjured after the vehicle traveled down an embankment Tuesday near Big Run.

Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania Police said the incident occurred around 10:16 a.m. Tuesday along Route 119, near Route 410, Henderson Township.

Police said Jose Tellez, 51, Pembroke Pines, Fla., was traveling north on Route 119 when his vehicle struck the guardrails on the northbound berm. The vehicle then traveled through the guardrails, police said, before coming to a final rest on the railroad bed facing east.

Police said Tellez was uninjured and wearing a seatbelt. Damage to his vehicle was disabling.

According to PennDOT, the left (northbound) lane of Route 119 was closed for most of the day following the incident.

The Big Run Area Volunteer Fire Company and Bloom Towing responded to the scene.
