Doug L. Sprankle, 55, Rossiter, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at Treasure Lake, DuBois.

He was born May 13, 1955, in Punxsutawney, a son of Merle "PeeWee" Sprankle and Sally (White) Sprankle, who survive.

May 30, 2001, he married Melissa (Guidash) Sprankle of Rossiter, who survives.

Mr. Sprankle worked for Davey Tree Experts for many years. He loved life and was loved by all who knew him for his humor and friendship. His two pugs, Lizzy and Willie, were a joy to him.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Sprankle is survived by three daughters, Amberlea Reed and husband Michael of Folkstown, Ga., Courtney Ott and Alexis Ott, both of Punxsutawney; two sisters, Linda Baun and companion Joe Kidd of Home and Deborah Bishop and husband Ron of Pembroke, Ga.; two grandchildren, Cole Reed and Alexis Reed; five nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends were received from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

An additional viewing was held from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Earl Flick officiating.

Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Rossiter.
