Dorothy Joan Fike, 73

Dorothy Joan Fike, 73, of Fike Lane in Brookville, died on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at Jefferson Manor in Brookville.

The daughter of Walter Powell and Dorothy Orr Powell, she was born on Feb. 7, 1941, in Punxsutawney.

On Nov. 27, 1957, Dorothy married Irvin Richard Fike, who survives, in Winchester, Virginia.

She worked as a seamstress for more than 35 years at the Brookville Glove Factory.

She previously attended the Coolspring United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy is survived by two sons, Randy Lee Fike of Reynoldsville and Richard Wayne Fike of Summerville; one sister, Vivian Shovestall of Shelocta, Pa.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Gerald Powell; and one sister, Eleanor Shaffer.

Visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McKinney Funearl Home in Brookville.

A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at 1 p.m.

Interment will take place in Coolspring Cemetery, Oliver Township, Jefferson County.
