Dorothy D. “Dot” Perry, 90, of Punxsutawney, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at home with her loving family.

She was born Oct. 9, 1922, in Dayton, Pa., a daughter of the late James and Lucinda (Hallman) Blose.

She married John D. Perry.

He preceded her in death on June 13, 2003.

Mrs. Perry was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Walston, Pa.

She worked as a study hall monitor at the Punxsutawney Area High School.

Her enjoyments were first and foremost her family, golf, reading, quilting, knitting and crossword puzzles.

Surviving relatives include six children, John Perry, Jr. and wife Sherry of Warminster, Pa., Rodney Perry and wife Jessica of Punxsutawney, Roxanne Lasher and husband John of Rossiter, Mary Jo Engle and husband Curt of Hillsdale, Pa., Rachel Plebani and husband Joseph of Hummelstown, Pa., and Jane Hyskell and husband Thomas of Punxsutawney; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Blose of Dayton.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Florence Stonebraker, Pauline Hosey and Beulah Lair; and six brothers, James, Stanley, Clifford, John, Robert and Kenny Blose.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church, officiated by Monsignor Joseph Riccardo.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Perry’s memory to the Punxsutawney Memorial Library, Civic Center, Punxsutawney, PA 15767, or to or SS. Cosmas & Damian School, 205 Chestnut St., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
