Dorothy Ann (Shuster) Larson, 74

Dorothy Ann (Shuster) Larson, 74, of Big Run, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born April 12, 1939, in Rossiter, a daughter of the late Michael and Susan (Koromaus) Shuster.

On Sept. 5, 1964, she married Frederick N. Larson. He survives.

Dorothy was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church. She was actively involved in preparing and cooking ethnic foods for church functions and the church festival.

Also, she was a member of the GCU Lodge.

Dorothy’s life revolved around her family and faith. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She also enjoyed reading, walking and going to the casino with her friends.

Dorothy worked at Loree Footwear prior to having her family.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by two children, Sharon A. Stumpf and husband Jeff of Big Run and Fred J. Larson of Altoona; four grandchildren, Jacob and Stephen Stumpf of Big Run and Sean and Danielle Larson of Altoona; one brother, Mike Shuster
and wife Rita of Baden; one sister, Irene Shaffer and husband Gene of Wheatland; and a sister-in-law, Theresa Shuster of Ambridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother- and father-in-law, Newton and Viola (Lott) Larson; and brother, John Shuster.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A Parastas service will be held at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, celebrated by Father Simeon Sibenik.

Interment will follow at S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Adrian.

Memorial donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to S.S. Peter Paul Byzantine Church, 714 Sutton St., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
