Doris J. Meneely, 92

Doris J. Meneely, 92, Punxsutawney, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Meneely was born May 25, 1919, in Loop, a daughter of the late H. Merle and Edna (Domb) Hoover.

June 19, 1947, she married Clair L. Meneely, who preceded her in death in 1976.

Mrs. Meneely worked for Farmers & Miners Bank and the Punxsutawney Area School District. She was a faithful and active member of the First United Methodist Church and was a volunteer for the Punxsutawney Genealogical Society.

Surviving relatives include a son, Leonard Meneely and wife Suzanne; three daughters, Ellen Meneely, Carol Mottern and husband Irvin, and Diane Meneely-Miller and husband Ross; six grandchildren, Scott Meneely, Rebecca Mibroda, Michael Meneely, Jolene Mottern, Jodi Shaffer and Marc Miller; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Meneely, Declan Mibroda, Becca Ann Bowser and Ella Meneely; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Hoover and William Hoover; and two sisters, Jean Kicher and Eleanor Moot.

With greatful hearts, her family celebrates her life as she returns to her Savior.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the First United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the church with Rev. James Pond and Rev. A. David Meneely officiating.

Interment will follow at Round Top Cemetery, Trade City.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Punxsutawney First United Methodist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
