Doris B. Hunger, 82

Doris B. Hunger, 82, of Punxsutawney, passed peacefully at home with her family on Thursday, March 7, 2013.

She was born July 25, 1930 in Summerville, Pa., the daughter of the late Donald and Sarah (Wayland) Burns.

She was married to John B. Hunger, Jr., who preceded her in death on July 20, 2002.

She and her husband owned and operated Hunger's Office Supply in Punxsutawney and the Hunger's Hallmark at the Groundhog Plaza.

She is survived by a son, John D. Hunger and wife Jo Ann of Punxsutawney; two daughters, Mrs. Terry (Deonne) Weaver of Punxsutawney, and Mrs. Charles (Margy) Nicklas of St. Marys, Pa.; and by two brothers, Herbert Burns and his wife Alvera of Brookville, and John Burns and wife Maxine of Summerville.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Mrs. Seth (Noella) Haag, Natalie Weaver, Caroline Weaver, Cassie Hunger, John Hunger, Elizabeth Nicklas, Kathryn Nicklas and Samuel Nicklas.

Friends will be received at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2013.

A private funeral service will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013, with Paster Maureen Seifried and Missionary Evangelists George and Linda Carol officiating.

Interment will follow at Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, R.D. 3, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
