Dora Lynn Sherry, 46, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born April 16, 1966, in New Castle, a daughter of Clarence E. Brown and the late Dr. Mattie Arnell Brown.

On April 25, 1987, she married Arthur Sherry. He survives.

She was a gentle, kind-spirited woman.

Dora was very artistic, and enjoyed painting, drawing and graphic arts.

She was very good at working on computers.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur; her father, Clarence Brown; two sisters, Kimberly Brown of Ellicott City, Md., and Deborah Dennis of New Castle; her grandmother, Lillian Webb of New Castle; four aunts, Mary Elizabeth Medina of Crestview, Fla., Phyllis Palmer of Royal Oakes, Mich., Barbara Cleckley of New Castle and Gladys Perkins of Butler; nieces and nephews Keneesha Dennis, Anthony Dennis Jr., Martika Dennis, Marterius Brown, Akyla Brown, Jordan Brown and Michael Brown; four great-nieces and nephews; a cousin, Maria Medin-Blair of Crestview, Fla.; a great-cousin, LaReina Sherrod of Hopkinsville, Ky.; and three great-great-cousins.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Don Pendley.

Interment will follow at Dora Evangelical Cemetery.
