Dora E. Palmer, 88

Dora E. Palmer, 88, Punxsutawney, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Sept. 16, 1924, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Domb) Wolfgang.

She was married to Ward J. Palmer, who preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 2007.

She was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church.

She was a former employee of Ruth and Harry’s Restaurant.

She enjoyed quilting and other crafts.

She is survived by a son, Larry Palmer and wife Patricia of Glen Allen, Va.; a grandson, Nicholas Palmer of Glen Allen, Va.; a granddaughter, Lauren Palmer of Charleston, W.V.; a sister, Ruth Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas Lunger, Samuel Lunger, Kenneth Wolfgang and Russell Wolfgang; and three sisters, Myrtle Ferringer, Mildred Butterbaugh and Gladys Lewis.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Young officiating.

Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Frostburg, Pa.

Memorial donations, in memory of Mrs. Palmer, may be made to the Hopewell United Methodist Church.
