Donna Mae Depp, 78

Donna Mae Depp, 78, of Punxsutawney, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at home.

She was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late William Henry Rugh, Sr., and Clara Elaine (Barnett) Rugh.

On May 17, 1952, she married the love of her life, Robert Dean Depp.

Together they enjoyed 60 years of marriage.

Donna worked as a school bus driver in the Mapleview area.

She was a kind and easygoing bus driver who had surprise gifts for the little ones who were reluctant to get on the bus for the first time.

On the last day of school, she allowed squirt guns and treated the kids to Dairy Queen.

She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was called “Nana” or “Nan” by many people.

She enjoyed gardening, camping and traveling with her husband.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include three daughters, Trudy Sheesley and husband Gary of Punxsutawney, Mona Carr and husband Donald of Punxsutawney, and Connie Mesanko and husband Dave of Gilbert, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Dee Jay Sheesley and wife Billie Jo, Amber Ewing and husband Mark and Bobby and Brandy Carr; four-great grandchildren, Austin and Rylee Ewing, Mason Sheesley and Zane Carley; and two sisters, Dorothy Yount of Punxsutawney and Linda Liscinsky and husband Ted of Punxsutawney.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William H. Rugh, Jr.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Bob Bish.

Interment will be at Hopewell Cemetery.
