Donald W. Finley, 72, passed away suddenly Monday, May 2, 2011, at his residence.
He was born in Charleroi, a son of William L. Finley and Ruth Little, who preceded him in dealth.
In 1956, he graduated from Punxsutawney High School.
After graduation, he served in the Army Reserve. From there, he moved to the Philadelphia area, where he became a certified technician for Thiokol Chemical in New Jersey. He also worked for Western Electric and later at ATT Bell Labs, where he co-authored a patent for one of their chemical procedures.
Mr. Finley was a member of the Eagles. His hobbies included flying and automobiles, and upon his retirement in 2001, he spent his leisure time enjoying both of these activities.
Surviving relatives include a brother, Glenn L. Finley and wife Amadeus of Treasure Lake; two sisters, Nance Finley and Sally Finley-Bowser and husband Tom, of Punxsutawney; a niece, Christi Goeser of California; and two nephews, Keven Finley of DuBois, and Wayne Avren and wife Chelley of Arizona.
Mr. Finley will be greatly missed by family and friends.
