Donald John Monoskey, 69, Marion Center, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Crystal Waters.

He was born May 18, 1942, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Joseph Charles and Anna (DeBeck) Monoskey.

Mr. Monoskey was a coal auger operator.

Surviving relatives include a son, Steven Monoskey of Marion Center; two daughters, Stacey Vehovic and husband Robert of Nolo, and Kelly Rethi and husband Mark of Tamona; two sisters, Shirley Ludwig and husband Joseph of Francestown, N.H., and Jane Dienes and husband Fred of Punxsutawney; a brother, Ronald Monoskey and wife Stella of Home; four grandchildren, Jacqueline McClelland and husband Lon, Ashley Pappal, Alanna Rethi, and Joseph Vehovic; two great-grandchildren, Jimmy and Jason McClelland; and his companion and caregiver, Georgia Monoskey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Monoskey.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2011, at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Msgr. Joseph J. Riccardo officiating.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney.

The family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Indiana Hospice in Mr. Monoskey’s name.
