Donald J. Frye, 65

Donald J. Frye, 65, DuBois, died suddenly at home Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011.

He was born July 8, 1946, in Rochester Mills, a son of the late Blair and Edna (Leasure) Frye.

He was married to Karen (Shaffer) Frye, who survives.

Mr. Frye served for 15 years with Company B, 728th Maintenance Battalion of the Clearfield National Guard. He was a retired railroad trackman for the B&O and Conrail Railroads.

He was a volunteer for the AARP and Protestant by faith, an active member of the Tri-County Church of God.

Mr. Frye had also lived for many years in the Curwensville and Clearfield areas.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include three children, Sherri Singer of Rochester, N.Y., and Kelli Clayton and Mark Frye, both of DuBois; two step-daughters, Michelle Bargerstock of DuBois, and Kim Lockwood of York; five grandchildren; four brothers, Paul Frye of Florida, Charles Frye and wife Hazel of Mayville, N.Y., Valgene Frye and wife Carolyn of Chicora, and Jerry Frye and wife Mary of Rochester Mills.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Frye, and a sister, Imogene Griffith.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home, DuBois.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at the Tri-County Church of God with Pastor Dave Bish officiating.
