Donald E. Lento, 74

Donald E. Lento, 74, Punxsutawney, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, after a long battle with ALS at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.

He was born July 3, 1936, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Francis and Florence (Kingsley) Lento.

Oct. 26, 1977, he married Judith A. (Mock) Lento of Punxsutawney, who survives.

Mr. Lento was a member of the First English Lutheran Church.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a volunteer firefighter in the Punxsutawney area and Oregon, Ohio.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include four sons, Christopher Lento and wife Donna of Punxsutawney, Kenneth Lento and wife Debbie of Allen, Texas, Michael Lento and wife Diann of Freemont, Ohio, and a stepson, Scott Haack of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter; Dawn Grimm and husband Terry of Pittsburgh; a stepdaughter; Kimberly Pisano of Chandler, Ariz.; a sister, Patricia Zimmerman of Oregon, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-granchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at the First English Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Lento’s name to the ALS Association or the First English Lutheran Church.
