Donald “Tom” Q. Bowers, 85

Donald “Tom” Q. Bowers, 85, of Rossiter, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Bowers was born Aug. 22, 1928, in Hillman, the son of the late Harvey B. and Dora Maye (Niel) Bowers.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine R. (Humble) Bowers, on May 12, 2002.

Mr. Bowers was a member of the Operating Engineers Local No. 66.

He is survived by two daughters, Barbara L. Wolfgang and husband James of Clayton, North Carolina, and Tammy Kougher and husband Mark of Punxsutawney; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Maxine, he was preceded in death by four brothers and seven sisters.

He was the last member of his family.
