Dolores "Dolly" S. Davis, 82

Dolores "Dolly" S. Davis, 82, of Big Run, died Monday, May 13, 2013, at DuBois Nursing Home.

She was born Jan. 31, 1931, in Cloe, a daughter of the late Rowland I. and Blanche (Baun) Smith.

On Oct. 8, 1949, she married Richard Davis. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1965.

Dolly previously worked as a bartender at the Punxsutawney Moose Club and at Little Canada.

She later worked as a clerk at JC Penney.

She loved people and could make you a friend upon your first encounter with her genuine magnetic personality, her sense of humor, her concern for others and her zest for life.

Dolly’s enjoyments were her family, neighbors, the community of Big Run, listening to music, reading and making crafts.

She is survived by four children, Richard Lynn Davis of Big Run, Russell Lee Davis of Big Run, Michele Kolash and husband William of Sabula and Renee Davis of Seven Hills; seven grandchildren, Chad, Cory and Jake Davis, Stephanie (Brian) Dick, Stacie Gula, Dana Marie (Josh) Matonak and Jennifer (Phil) Mennetti; four great-grandchildren, Brendan and Mark Chessley and Kyle and Lucas Mennetti; and a sister, Ione Smith of Port Charlotte, Fla.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Moeller and Mildred Anibaldi; and a brother, Darhl Smith.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.
