Diane Robinson Baughman, 91

Diane Robinson Baughman, of Westwood, Mass., formerly of Osterville and Needham, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, just one week shy of her 92nd birthday.

Diane’s husband, Harry W. Baughman, passed away in 2002.

Diane and Harry leave behind their three daughters, Laura Dell of Yarmouth Port, Melissa Baughman and partner Diane Leclair of Framingham, and Nancy DiRomualdo and husband Tony of Carlisle; a nephew, Greg Depp and wife Maureen of Hingham; five grandchildren, Kristin Knopf and husband Brian, Matthew Dell and wife Nora and Christian, Adrian and Arianna DiRomualdo; three great-grandchildren, Cody Dell and Madison and Hunter Knopf; and Diane’s brother, A.C. Robinson of South Carolina.

Diane’s sister, Nancy, passed in 2006.

Both Diane and Harry were born and raised in Punxsutawney, where they became high school sweethearts and later married in 1943.

Following high school, Diane graduated from Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School.

Diane and Harry traveled the country while he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

They settled in Boston, where Diane worked at the Harvard University Press while Harry attended Harvard Law School.

They went on to make Massachusetts their permanent home, residing in Needham, Osterville and finally Fox Hill Village, Westwood.

Diane was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed many years as a member of the Osterville Garden Club, where she eventually became an honorary member. She and Harry were also avid golfers and participated in all the activities at the Wianno Club.

Diane was a warm and loving mother to her girls; she enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up and loved visits from all the children.

Diane will be very dearly missed by all.

A celebration of Diane’s life will be held on her birthday at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at First Congregational Church, 100 Winter St., Norwood, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.
