Dennis B. Keck, 66, Punxsutawney, died Saturday, March 22, 2014.

He was born July 9, 1947, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Alfred E. and Helen L. Keck.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1970 as a PFC.

He received many medals and a Purple Heart during his years of service.

He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Punxsutawney and also worked for the Baltimore Life Insurance Company.

He was an active member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Punxsutawney.

He enjoyed antiquing, fishing, golf and sports.

He is survived by three sisters, Joy Heitzenrater and husband Donald of Punxsutawney, Penny Rogers of Columbus, Ohio, and Susan Hurd and husband Dennis of Clearfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and a longtime friend, Donna McMinn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Jeffrey Hurd.

Friends will be received from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the funeral home, with Pastor James Kusko officiating.

Interment will be at Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the donor’s choice.
