Delacour, girls' golfers defeat Brockway

BROCKWAY — For the second day in a row, Audrianna Delacour posted the low medal score and six other Punxsy girls' golfers scored in the 50s to defeat host Brockway, 212-225.

After a 53 on Tuesday, Delacour bettered that score by three for a round of 50 on Wednesday.

"It's great to see Audrianna earn low medalist two days in a row. She's been so consistent and the team has begun to depend on that low score," said Punxsy coach Katie Irwin.

Lauren Giavedoni led the other six Punxsy golfers to hit sub 60s for the afternoon with a 53 for second. Caroline Dunkel (54), Sarah London (55) and Morgan McFarland (56) had just one stroke separating the third through fifth Lady Chucks.

Lauren McGee chipped in a 58 to finish the Punxsy scoring players while Julia Martino recorded a 56. Kasey Prescott fired a round of 67 to complete the participants.

"I'm very happy with how the team played today. It's great having seven girls in the fifties," added Irwin.

The Lady Rovers had three girls hit under 60 with Hailey Adams tying Giavedoni for second with a 53 for their top performer.

After two busy weeks of matches, Punxsy will take almost a week off before hosting the all league meet next Monday, Sept. 10th with a 3 p.m. start.
