Dean “Dino” Allen Yohe, 75

Dean “Dino” Allen Yohe, 75, Big Run, died Saturday, July 16, 2011, at home.

He was born Feb. 2, 1936, in Big Run, a son of the late Edward B. and Helen M. (Vanetta) Yohe.

Feb. 6, 1955, he married the former Wilma “Wink” LaRue Peace, who survives.

Mr. Yohe was a member of the First Christian Church in Big Run.

He was also a member of the John W. Jenks Masonic Lodge in Punxsutawney and the United Mine Workers/construction.

He worked as a carpenter constructing  mine shafts for the Williamson family company in Ebensburg. He retired from Central Cambria Drilling Company in 1991.

Mr. Yohe enjoyed square dancing with his wife, hunting and fishing.

He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include four children, David R. Yohe and wife Lori of Reynoldsville, Beverly Smith and husband James of Emporium, Richard A. Yohe and wife Beth of Charleston, S.C., and Brenda Cekovsky and husband John of Punxsutawney; seven grandchildren, Eric Yohe and wife Jennifer, Keenan Yohe, Holli Yohe and fiancé Jason Polito, Shawna Fye and husband Joseph Jr., Jerica Mitchell, Jared and Katlyn Cekovsky; a great-grandchild, Shelby Lynn Yohe; a brother, David E. Yohe and wife Carol of DuBois; and several close nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Chad Cekovsky; three brothers, James, Clifford and Charles Yohe; and a sister, Betty Schaffer.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Big Run, with Pastor Andy Cressman officiating.

Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Yohe’s memory to DRMC Hospice, 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois, Pa. 15801, or to the American Cancer Society.
