David E. McMasters, 66

David E. McMasters, 66, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 5, 1947, in Spangler, Pa., the son of Earl R. and Shirley (Hollen) McMasters.

He was married to the former Beverly Peace, who survives.

He was a project manager in the construction industry.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

He attended the Punxsutawney Alliance Church.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley McMasters of Clearfield; his wife; one son, David E. McMasters, Jr. of Punxsutawney; three daughters, Renee Hernandez and husband Ivan of Goldsboro, N.C., Yvonne Covey of Punxsutawney and Michelle McMasters of Newport, N.C.; and two sisters, Diana McMasters of Clearfield, and Jeanette Sunderland and husband Pat of Rockton.

He is also survived by seven grandsons and one granddaughter and by two great-grandsons.

Friends will be received at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at 11 a.m., with Pastor John Buchmann officiating.

Full military honors will be accorded by the United States Marine Corps and the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard.

Interment will follow at the Union Hill Cemetery in Rossiter.

The family requests the donations in memory of Mr. McMasters be made to the Punxsutawney Alliance Church or to the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots.
