Daryl M. Kicher

Daryl M. Kicher, 84, Punxsutawney, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Wellington Heights.

He was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Sykesville, a son of the late Joseph and Lydia (Burhenn) Kicher.

Aug. 19, 1948, he married E. Jean Hoover, who preceded him in death Nov. 19, 1980.

Mr. Kicher worked for Auto Parts in Punxsutawney and the U.S. Postal Service.

He attended the Chestnut Grove Independent Church and enjoyed playing tennis, gardening and traveling.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Nancy Kicher of Forest, Va., and Jackie Pryber of Knox; and two granddaughters.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Ed and Don; and two sisters, Sarah Sallack and Ruth Hockman.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Joe Spack officiating.

Interment will be in Round Top Cemetery, Trade City.

Donations in Mr. Kicher's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Chestnut Grove Independent Church in Punxsutawney.
