Daniel Grant Ruffner, 94

Daniel Grant Ruffner, 94, Marion Center, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Hillsdale Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hillsdale.

He was born Sept. 29, 1917, in West Mahoning Township, a son of the late Daniel C. and Emma (Fitzgerald) Ruffner.

Mr. Ruffner was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II.

Prior to a lengthy illness, Mr. Ruffner made his home in Florida, before returning to Marion Center.

Surviving relatives include a sister, Mabel Peffer of Marion Center; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Melford Ruffner, Lincoln Ruffner, Miles Ruffner and Clark Ruffner; and three sisters, Elizabeth Robison, Blanche Good and Alice Garrity.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce Gearhart officiating.

Interment will follow at Marchand Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the donor's choice.
