D. Chester Knapp, 90, Brookville, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Highland View Health Care in Brockway.

He was born July 15, 1922, in Rose Township, Jefferson County, a son of the late Arthur and Alice Marie (Hice) Knapp.

Feb. 6, 1946, in Brookville, he married June A. Knisley, who preceded him in death Oct. 13, 1999.

Mr. Knapp was a farmer.

He was a member of the Stanton United Methodist Church, The Farm Bureau and the Atlantic Breeders' Cooperative.

Surviving relatives include a son, Daniel Leroy Knapp and wife Betty of Brookville; a daughter, Darla Gleason; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Alton Knapp of Brookville; and a sister, Martha Procious of Brookville.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Howard officiating.

Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville.
