Cynthia E. Heschke, 52

Cynthia E. Heschke, 52, of Punxsutawney, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

Cynthia was born March 2, 1961, in Punxsutawney, the daughter of Velma (Himes) Smouse, who survives, of Soldier.

She was married to Richard H. Heschke, who survives, of Punxsutawney.

Cynthia worked many years for the Head Start Program as a teacher’s aide.

She was a member of the Ringgold United Methodist Church and also attended the Punxsutawney Church of the Nazerene.

She loved traveling, swimming, scuba diving, boating, Zumba and children.

In addition to her mother and her husband, Richard, she is survived by a son, David Heschke of Punxsutawney; one brother, Brad Smouse and wife Terri of Brookville; and one sister, Tammy Yohe and husband Ken of Soldier.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, April Lynn Heschke, on Dec. 30, 2000.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

Additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at the Ringgold United Methodist Church with Pastor Richard Martz officiating.

Interment will follow at Ringgold Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Heschke's name to the Ringgold United Methodist Church.
