Conrad, Molinaro to again lead PASD board

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Punxsutawney Area School Board welcomed its newly elected members at Wednesday’s reorganization meeting and re-elected its sitting president.

District Judge Douglas Chambers swore in new board members Melissa Snyder and Jim Baun, as well as incumbents Jack White and Penny Muth Pifer.

During the board’s annual reorganizational meeting, Lesa Conner nominated and then made a motion to re-elect current school board president Gary Conrad. Pifer seconded her motion.

Conrad was reelected 8-1 with Conrad, White, Pifer, Roberta Dinsmore, Baun, Snyder, Conner and Francis J. Molinaro voting in support. Bob Pascuzzo voted no.

Conner then nominated and made a motion to re-elect Molinaro as vice-president which was seconded by White and approved 8-1 with Conrad, Conner, Molinaro, Pascuzzo, White, Baun, Snyder and Dinsmore voting yes. Pifer voted no.

The board also approved the use of a signature stamp and designated the dates for the board’s voting meetings which will be held at 7 p.m. the second Monday of the month, except for the April 9 meeting, which was moved to Tuesday, April 10, due to a holiday, and the Dec. 4 meeting for reorganization.

All committee meetings will be held at 7 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of the month except for Feb. 29, May 30 and Oct. 31, when it will be held the fifth Wednesday of the month.
