Clyde Raymond Evans, 83

Clyde Raymond Evans, 92, of Brookville, died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Mulberry Square in Punxsutawney.

He was born Nov. 19, 1921, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Wayne Boyd and Eva (Burkett) Evans.

Mr. Evans was a United States Army Veteran, having served during World War II.

He worked for TW Phillips for more than 30 years.

On June 21, 1981, he married Helen Louise Snyder. She survives and resides in Brookville.

His enjoyments were gardening, refurbishing old cars and welding. He also enjoyed football and baseball.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Larry (Carol) Evans of Brookville, and Denny (Darlene) Evans of Punxsutawney; a step-son,
John (Amy) Kells of Rochester, New York; a step-daughter, Patricia Commons of Brookville; two grandchildren, Jessica Evans of Brookville, and Dayna (Terry) Domino of Phoenix, Arizona; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Gerald (Naomi) Evans of Punxsutawney; and two sisters, Lois Caldwell, and Doris Startzell, both of Brookville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Milford and Wayne Evans; and three sisters, Minnie Furman, Martha Brosius, and Alma Pifer.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Brookville, officiated by Pastor Timothy Spence.

Interment will follow at Lakelawn Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Evans’ memory to Asera Care Hospice, Brookville.
