Clifford Dale "Bee Man" Allshouse, 76, Brookville, lost his courageous battle with leukemia Monday, April 16, 2012, at home, prayerfully surrounded by his family.
He was born Sept. 19, 1935, in Brookville, a son of the late Harold Hubert and Gertrude Isabelle (Maze) Allshouse.
June 8, 1956, he was united in marriage to the former Mary Jane Croyle Haugh, who survives. His wife was by his side every step of the way and honored his wishes.
Mr. Allshouse was employed for 23 years with Penelec at the Piney Dam hydroelectric plant as an assistant switchboard operator.
After his retirement, he worked as a honeybee inspector with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
Over the years, Mr. Allshouse was also employed with the New York Central Railroad and the B&O Railroad, Ford Garage in Brookville and the Moonlite Drive-In Theatre.
Mr. Allshouse enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, trapping and spending time with his family and many wonderful friends. He enjoyed several motorcycle trips across the country with his sons.
A member of the NRA and the Pennsylvania State Beekeepersâ€™ Association, his passion was honeybees and the apiary business. At age 15, he bought his first batch of starter honeybees and began studying the apiary business.
In addition to his beloved wife, surviving relatives include four children, Michael Allshouse and wife Cindy of Sharpsville, Mark Allshouse and wife Rhonda of Brookville, Jennifer Allshouse of Harrisburg and Rebecca Wallace and husband Robert of Brookville; eight grandchildren, Adam, Dan, Melissa, Jeremy and Jason Allshouse, Angela Woods and husband Robert, Malaney Wallace and Justin Clinton; five great-grandchildren, Natalie, Abby and Jonathan Woods, Jayna Allshouse and Noah Clinton; a sister, Norma Kay Farrell; and nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Eugene.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012, at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Ned Burkett officiating.
Interment will be at the Roseville-Bethel Cemetery in Roseville.
